Simple, yet Effective

Last night while the Cubs were in the 5th inning, I went to my basement to get a quick workout in. A few weeks ago I purchased a hex bar off of Amazon for a great price. I was pumped to get it in the mail and then it went to the basement and I didn’t look at it again for a month. My basement has spiders, really big spiders too. A couple months ago I was working out and a huge spider came crawling across the floor. I freaked out, tried to kill it with some weed killer that was empty, and eventually just chased it off so I could get back to my workout. I really just didn’t want it on my baby who was in her swing. Before I could workout last night I had to do an hour’s worth of vacuuming up dead spiders and crickets from my basement. Then I had to go back around the room perimeter and spray bug spray since the basement seems to have a lot of open ways for bugs to get in. After my vacuuming cardio I was tempted to just go watch the World Series, but then decided I really wanted to break in the new hex bar. You can see my workout pictured in the photo, but I’ll write it out for you.

I really enjoyed the hex bar. After doing the hex bar squats my back squat was pretty weak. That could also come from lack of consistency. I also go to Cross-fit but haven’t been going every day and we don’t always do squats, so it had been a month since my last back squat. I really enjoy leg day. You can do just a few quick movements and really get a good workout in. My usual go to workout is back squats, straight leg dead-lifts, and lunges so it was nice to break that up with my new equipment.
